Shellé Riley

Shellé Riley has practiced for over twenty years. She began her legal career at Kansas Legal Services in Wichita, Kansas, where she provided free legal services to clients who met the income requirements and who may not have otherwise been able to have or afford legal representation. While at Kansas Legal Services, Shellé represented clients in divorce and Social Security matters. She represented juveniles in detention hearings. Shellé also traveled to various counties in Kansas visiting senior centers and providing information to Seniors about Living Wills, Powers of Attorney, and other senior-related matters.

Ms. Riley’s Experience

Shellé practiced in Missouri. While there, she represented clients seeking Social Security Disability Benefits and parents in child abuse and neglect cases. Shellé was a Guardian ad Litem for minors in child abuse and neglect, juvenile, adoption and family law cases. She also prosecuted for the City of Joplin in Joplin, Missouri and for the Newton County Prosecutor’s Office in Neosho, Missouri. As a Prosecutor, Shellé prosecuted local ordinance and traffic violations, as well as felony and misdemeanor offenses. While at the Newton County Prosecutors Office, Shellé was also a member of the board that established Child Support Court in the Circuit Court of Newton County as alternative sentencing for defendants charged with misdemeanor and felony child support cases.

Shellé has spent the majority of her career practicing in Illinois, where she represented clients in all phases of parentage, divorce, adoption, guardianship, name change and Social Security matters. She also defended clients in child abuse and neglect cases, as well as traffic, debt collection, consumer complaints and consumer credit matters.

Ms. Riley’s Education

Ms. Riley earned her B.A. at Lake Forest College and then obtained her J.D. from Washburn University School of Law.
